His To Use

His To Use
Jithvi Justin Ninan

Once a potter happened to make,
A jar so puny that none would take.
It was a creation of such poor taste,
That people thought it was a waste.
So the jar on its shelf grew old,
Despised, rejected & unsold.
But though it fetched its master no gain,
He still thought it was worth the pain.

Then taking pity on his piece of clay,
He poured in some fine ‘nard one day;
The little jar that was a disgrace,
Became an object of much praise.
And as its fame spread through the land,
It was sought by many a hand.
But the potter had in mind a plan,
To give it to the most deserving man.

He looked for one humble & true,
but of such kind there were very few.
At last he found Mary most deserving,
She was willing to pay an years earning.
She bought it for someone she had in mind,
Who had helped her put all her sins behind.
And so the little jar not worth a thing,
Was emptied at the feet of the king!
